build a better relationship with food and your body

My goal in working with you is to support you in living your fullest life.  Diets have a tendency to steal moments of joy and connection. Eating disorders thrive in isolation. Just taking the first step towards starting therapy will help you to establish connection, reduce shame, and cultivate hope.

I take a holistic approach to eating disorder treatment, meaning I view you as more than just an eating disorder and will support you in exploring how your experiences are interconnected.  We might examine available social supports,  ways to cultivate self-worth, or investigate how the beliefs that have been holding you back have formed.

Care often involves a treatment team, which may include (and is not limited to): your registered dietician and medical provider. This allows us to collaborate to provide the best care.

Health at Every Size® Approach

I am anti-diet and fat-positive. These beliefs are rooted in my commitment to social justice. I view eating disorders as a systemic and personal issue. They impact individuals of all body sizes, genders and socioeconomic statuses. Above all, I believe that all bodies are worthy of compassionate care. Your size does not determine your health, or your worth.

Issues treated

Anorexia Nervosa

Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

Binge Eating Disorder

Bulimia Nervosa

OSFED: Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder

Most of my clients fall within this category, which means that they may not meet full criteria of other diagnoses, or may be displaying symptoms characteristic of multiple diagnoses.

Orthorexia

Orthorexia is not yet recognized by the APA, however this is a presentation that we see often. This involves an obsession with health leading to restrictive behaviors around diet, often malnourishment, and decreased quality of life.
