Affirming therapy is a unique and liberating experience for many of my clients. Rather than looking at changing you or "curing" your neurodivergence, we'll explore ways to cultivate a more supportive and sensory friendly environment. Many of my clients experience co-occuring ADHD, autism, and/or eating disorders, trauma or other mental health issues. I am experienced in providing specialized care to address all of these areas.
I believe that self-diagnosis is a valid approach to understanding autism and ADHD. I often support clients in confirming diagnosis and will encourage self-validation. A lot of our work might focus around challenging masking so that you can be truer to yourself and use coping strategies that really work for you without fear of judgment. Note: I do not currently provide psychological testing services or related reports.
"Spoon Theory" was developed by disability rights activists. It uses spoons to compare units of energy required to complete a task. Working together, we may discuss how to preserve your spoons so that you can live a more joyful life.
